Z55 2-axle MagneRide bypass kit: front and rear
Both axles plus free rear pigtails: shock and ride height simulators for 2005-2014 Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, GMC Yukon and Sierra Denali with Z55 AutoRide. 2013-2014 owners: check your glove box code.
The M&P USA Z55 2-axle MagneRide bypass kit converts both axles of a 2005-2012 GM truck or SUV with Z55 AutoRide in one box, with the rear pigtails included free. It lets you replace the factory shocks and electronic struts, including worn-out rear air-ride shocks, with standard passive shocks or coilovers without the “Service Suspension System” warning or fault codes. You get 4 shock simulators, 4 ride height sensor simulators, and 2 rear pigtails with waterproof heat-shrink crimp connectors. The front plugs straight into the factory connectors; the rear air-ride connectors use the included pigtails, which are spliced in. Designed by a US Marine Corps veteran electrical engineer, made in the USA, and backed by our lifetime warranty.
The short answer
- Right kit if your glove box label shows Z55 on a 2005-2012 Escalade, Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, or Sierra Denali. 2013-2014 models can be Z55 or Z95, so check the label first (see below).
- One kit, both axles, pigtails free. Costs less than two single kits plus the pigtail set. Only doing one axle? Get the Z55 single axle kit.
- Front plugs in; the rear uses the included pigtails, spliced onto the rear wires (wire stripper, crimper, and heat gun needed).
- Label says Z95? Use the Z95 kit instead. Need more detail? Read our Z55 MagneRide bypass guide.

Is this the right Z55 2-axle MagneRide bypass kit?
Use this Z55 2-axle MagneRide bypass kit if you have a GM truck or SUV with the Z55 AutoRide suspension package (see the fitment table below) and you are replacing the factory shocks on both the front and rear axles.
Use a different kit if
- You’re converting only one axle: use our Z55 single axle kit. Converting only the rear? Add the pigtail adapter set.
- Your vehicle is a car (Corvette C6, CTS, CTS-V, XLR, STS, DTS): use our 1997-2012 strut bypass kit. Cars at stock ride height don’t need ride height simulators. If your car is lowered or raised outside the factory range, some models need them, so contact us first.
- Your SUV or truck is a 2015-2020 model with Z95 MagneRide: use our Z95 bypass kit.
- Your SUV is a 2021-2023 model: use our Z45 bypass kit.
Not sure which package you have? Check the Service Parts Identification label in your glove box for the code Z55, use our Find My Kit tool, or send us your year, make, and model and we’ll confirm the right kit before you order.
2013 or 2014 model? Check your code
GM used both Z55 AutoRide and Z95 MagneRide during 2013 and 2014, and changed connectors partway through some model years, so the year alone won’t tell you which kit you need.
- 1Open the glove box and find the Service Parts Identification label, a sticker covered in short 3-character codes.
- 2Look for Z55 (use this Z55 2-axle MagneRide bypass kit) or Z95 (use our Z95 kit).
- 3Can’t find the label or the code? Send us your VIN and we’ll confirm the right kit before you order.
Before you buy parts, enter your VIN in the NHTSA recall lookup to check for open safety recalls; recall repairs are free at a dealer.
Both axles in one box, rear pigtails free
This Z55 2-axle MagneRide bypass kit covers the front AND rear axles, so you need only one. The 2 rear pigtails are included at no charge, and the kit costs less than buying two single axle Z55 kits and the pigtail set separately. The front plugs straight into the factory connectors; the rear 2-pin connectors on air-ride trucks and SUVs are a different style, so the included pigtails are spliced onto the rear wires.

What’s included

- 4 shock simulators (also called delete modules or bypass resistors): replace the electronic signal from the factory shocks so the suspension module sees a normal system.
- 4 ride height simulators: keep the ride height sensor circuits reading normally. GM trucks and SUVs with this system require these to prevent suspension fault codes.
- Zip ties for mounting, plus printed installation instructions.
- 2 rear pigtails, free (the same parts as our pigtail adapter set), with waterproof heat-shrink crimp connectors.

Z55 AutoRide fitment
For trucks and SUVs equipped with the Z55 AutoRide package. Where it says check label, GM used more than one system in those years, so confirm Z55 on your glove box label first.

| Years | Make | Model | Glove box label |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2005-2012 | Cadillac | Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT | Z55 (a few 2009-2012 are Z95) |
| 2005-2012 | Chevrolet | Tahoe, Suburban | Z55 |
| 2005-2012 | GMC | Yukon, Yukon Denali, Sierra Denali | Z55 |
| 2013-2014 | Cadillac | Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT | Check label (Z55 or Z95) |
| 2013-2014 | Chevrolet | Tahoe, Suburban | Check label (Z55 or Z95) |
| 2013-2014 | GMC | Yukon, Yukon Denali, Sierra Denali | Check label (Z55 or Z95) |
Label says Z95? Use our Z95 kit instead. One Z55 2-axle MagneRide bypass kit covers the whole vehicle. Can’t find the label? Send us your VIN.
Customer-reported fitment: customers have also used our Z55 kits successfully on the Chevrolet Avalanche. Vehicle not listed? Contact us to confirm before ordering. Already have shock simulators and need ride height only? See the Z55 ride height 2-pack or 4-pack.
How to install the Z55 2-axle MagneRide bypass kit
- 1Install the ride height simulators first. With the vehicle off and safely raised, release the locking tab on each factory ride height sensor connector, unplug it, and plug in a 3-pin ride height simulator until it clicks.
- 2Cycle the power. Turn the vehicle on for 30 seconds, then off, so the suspension module reads the new ride height.
- 3Install the front shock simulators. Unplug the 2-pin connector from each front shock and plug in a shock simulator until it clicks.
- 4Install the rear shock simulators. On rear air-ride connectors, cut off the factory connector, splice an included pigtail onto the factory wires with the heat-shrink crimp connectors, heat-seal them, then plug in the simulator.
- 5Secure everything. Zip-tie the ride height simulators through their mounting hole and the shock simulators around their neck. Keep all parts away from the exhaust and other heat sources, and do not secure them against plastic wire loom or wiring. A metal surface is best.
- 6Lower the vehicle, clear codes, and trim. With all four wheels on the ground, start the vehicle. Suspension codes clear within up to 40 ignition cycles, with a scan tool, or by disconnecting the battery for at least 30 minutes. Then perform a Ride Height Trim Procedure with a scan tool: required on GMC Denali models and recommended on all other vehicles. Any mechanic or dealership can do it in a few minutes.
We recommend installation by a certified technician. Full printed instructions are included with every Z55 2-axle MagneRide bypass kit. Questions during installation? Contact us.

Frequently asked questions
Which vehicles does the Z55 2-axle MagneRide bypass kit fit?
2005-2012 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, and Escalade EXT, Chevrolet (Chevy) Suburban and Tahoe, GMC Yukon and Yukon Denali, and GMC Sierra Denali equipped with the Z55 AutoRide package, plus 2013-2014 models whose glove box label shows Z55. Look for the code Z55 on the Service Parts Identification label in your glove box.
Is my 2013 or 2014 truck Z55 or Z95?
It could be either. GM used both systems in those years and changed connectors partway through some model years. Check the Service Parts Identification label in your glove box for Z55 or Z95, or send us your VIN and we’ll tell you which kit fits.
What’s the difference between AutoRide and MagneRide?
Both are GM electronic suspension systems with sensor-monitored shocks. Z55 AutoRide was used on most 2005-2012 GM trucks and SUVs, and Z95 MagneRide on most 2015-2020 models. The connectors and signals differ, so each needs its own kit. People often call both systems MagneRide.
Are the pigtails really included?
Yes. The 2 rear pigtails, the same parts as our pigtail adapter set, come in the box with the Z55 2-axle MagneRide bypass kit at no extra charge, with waterproof heat-shrink crimp connectors.
Do I have to cut any wires?
Only at the rear on air-ride trucks and SUVs, where you splice on the included pigtails. You’ll need a wire stripper, crimping tool, and heat gun. The front and the ride height sensors plug straight in.
Does it work with rear air suspension (air ride)?
Yes. Many customers use Z55 MagneRide bypass kits when replacing worn-out rear air shocks with standard shocks or coilovers. If you switch to non-air rear shocks, you can generally pull the fuse or the relay for the leveling compressor once the bypass is installed; leave the compressor itself plugged in.
Why does my dashboard say “Service Suspension System”?
The suspension module monitors every shock and ride height sensor. When a shock fails or is replaced with a standard shock, the module loses the signal it expects and sets the warning. The simulators in the Z55 2-axle MagneRide bypass kit give the module the signals it expects, so the warning clears once the codes are cleared.
Can I use it with a lift or leveling kit?
Yes. Customers have installed Z55 MagneRide bypass kits with leveling kits, lift kits, and lowering kits. The ride height simulators send the module a steady, normal reading, so the height change does not set suspension codes.
Is this the same as an AutoRide delete resistor?
It does the same job. You may see these parts called MagneRide or AutoRide delete kits, delete resistors, bypass resistors, delete modules, delete plugs, or shock simulators. Our Z55 2-axle MagneRide bypass kit is a complete set with sealed, weatherproof OEM-style connectors and includes the ride height simulators that trucks and SUVs need.
Do I need one kit or two?
One. The Z55 2-axle MagneRide bypass kit already covers both the front and rear axles. If you’re converting only one axle, use our Z55 single axle kit instead.
Will it work on my Corvette or CTS?
No. Cars use our 1997-2012 strut bypass kit instead. Cars at stock ride height don’t need ride height simulators.
Still not sure this is your kit?
Use Find My Kit, read the Z55 guide, or send us your VIN and a real person will confirm the right kit before you order.
