Electronic MagneRide delete kit for 2013 and newer GM cars
Plug-and-play shock simulators for the Camaro SS and ZL1 (2012 ZL1 too), Corvette C7, Chevrolet SS, and Cadillac ATS, CTS, and XTS. Not for trucks or SUVs.
The M&P USA electronic MagneRide delete kit for 2013 and newer cars (also called a MagneRide bypass resistor kit or active electronic strut bypass kit) lets you replace the factory GM MagneRide (Magnetic Ride Control) shocks and struts with coilovers or passive shocks, without the “Service Suspension System” warning, fault codes, or the reduced top speed that can come with them. Each kit includes 2 shock simulators that plug into the factory connectors on one axle, with no cutting or splicing on most models. Designed by a US Marine Corps veteran electrical engineer, made in the USA, and backed by our lifetime warranty.
The short answer
- Right kit for 2013 and newer GM cars with MagneRide: 2012-2015 Camaro ZL1, 2016-2020 Camaro SS and ZL1, 2014-2019 Corvette C7, 2014-2017 Chevrolet SS, 2013-2019 Cadillac ATS and XTS, and 2014-2019 Cadillac CTS.
- 2012 or older car (except the 2012 Camaro ZL1)? Use the 1997-2012 strut bypass kit instead.
- One kit covers one axle. All four corners take two kits. Cars at stock ride height don’t need ride height simulators.
- Truck or SUV? This kit isn’t enough; see below. Need more detail? Read our MagneRide bypass resistor guide for cars.

Trucks and SUVs: this kit is not enough
GM MagneRide trucks and SUVs (Escalade, Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, Sierra Denali) also monitor 3-pin ride height sensors and need ride height simulators. Using this kit alone on a truck or SUV is not a proper long-term solution. Use our complete kits instead: Z95 (2015-2020), Z55 (2005-2012), or Z45 (2021-2023). 2013-2014 trucks and SUVs can be Z95 or Z55, so check the glove box label first.
Is this the right electronic MagneRide delete kit?
Use this electronic MagneRide delete kit if you have a 2013 or newer GM car with MagneRide, or a 2012 Camaro ZL1 (see the fitment table below), and you are removing or replacing the factory shocks or struts.
Use a different kit if
- Your car is a 2012 or older model: use our 1997-2012 strut bypass kit. The one exception is the 2012 Camaro ZL1, which uses this kit.
- Your vehicle is a truck or SUV: use our Z95, Z55, or Z45 kit, which include the ride height simulators trucks and SUVs need.
- Your car is lowered or raised outside the factory ride height range: some models also need ride height simulators, so contact us first.
Not sure? Use our Find My Kit tool or send us your year, make, and model and we’ll confirm the right kit before you order.
Before you buy parts, enter your VIN in the NHTSA recall lookup to check for open safety recalls; recall repairs are free at a dealer.
One kit per axle
Each electronic MagneRide delete kit covers one axle (front OR rear). To convert all four corners, order two kits.
What’s included

- 2 MagneRide shock simulators (also called bypass resistors or delete modules): replace the electronic signal from the factory shocks so the suspension module sees a normal system.
- Zip ties for mounting, plus printed installation instructions.

How to install the electronic MagneRide delete kit
- 1Check the connector. With the vehicle off and safely raised, compare the factory shock connector to the connector on our simulator. If it looks different, contact us before installing.
- 2Install the shock simulators. Unplug the 2-pin connector from each factory MagneRide shock or strut and plug in a shock simulator until it clicks.
- 3Secure everything. Zip-tie the shock simulators around their neck. Keep them away from the exhaust and other heat sources, and do not secure them against plastic wire loom or wiring. A metal surface is best.
- 4Lower the vehicle and clear codes. With all four wheels on the ground, start the vehicle. Suspension codes clear within up to 40 ignition cycles, with a scan tool, or by disconnecting the battery for at least 30 minutes. A Ride Height Trim Procedure with a scan tool is recommended where equipped.
We recommend installation by a certified technician. Full printed instructions are included with every electronic MagneRide delete kit. Questions during installation? Contact us.

Frequently asked questions
Which cars does the electronic MagneRide delete kit fit?
2013-2019 Cadillac ATS and XTS, 2014-2019 Cadillac CTS, 2012-2015 Chevrolet (Chevy) Camaro ZL1, 2016-2020 Camaro SS and ZL1, 2014-2019 Corvette C7, and 2014-2017 Chevrolet SS Sedan with MagneRide.
Why does the 2012 Camaro ZL1 use this kit?
It was the first GM car with the 2013-style MagneRide connector, so it takes this kit rather than the 1997-2012 kit.
Does it fit the Camaro Z/28?
No. The 2014-2015 Camaro Z/28 uses spool-valve shocks, not MagneRide, so it has no MagneRide connectors for this kit. On 2012-2015 Camaros, only the ZL1 has MagneRide. From 2016, the SS can have it too.
Can I use this kit on my truck or SUV?
No. GM MagneRide trucks and SUVs also monitor 3-pin ride height sensors and need ride height simulators. Use our Z95, Z55, or Z45 kit instead.
Is this a MagneRide bypass resistor?
Yes, it does the same job. You may see these parts called MagneRide bypass resistors, delete resistors, delete modules, delete plugs, active electronic strut bypass kits, or shock simulators. Our electronic MagneRide delete kit uses sealed, weatherproof OEM-style connectors instead of crimped wires.
Will it remove the 80 mph speed limit?
Yes. When the suspension module detects a MagneRide fault, many GM cars limit top speed (customers report 80 mph). Once the electronic MagneRide delete kit is installed and the codes clear, the limit goes away.
Can I use it with coilovers or passive shocks?
Yes. That’s what the electronic MagneRide delete kit is designed for. Customers run it with coilover kits such as QA1 and standard passive shocks on Camaros, Corvettes, and Cadillacs.
Do I need one kit or two?
One electronic MagneRide delete kit covers one axle. Converting all four corners takes two kits.
Do cars need ride height simulators?
Not at stock ride height. If your car is lowered or raised outside the factory range, some models need them, so contact us first.
What if my connector looks different?
Some models, including some Cadillac XTS cars, use a slightly different connector. Send us your year, make, and model before ordering and we’ll confirm the fit.
Still not sure this is your kit?
Use Find My Kit, read the cars guide, or send us your year, make, and model and a real person will confirm the right kit before you order.

Hey, we absolutely agree, we always recommend checking the connectors prior to ordering, however as you experienced sometimes there are subtle differences in the connectors which is exactly why we offer the universal adapters.
